The story goes, there is this gorgeous country by the name of Oman tucked away next to Yemen, U.A.E., and Saudi Arabia. This hidden gem is occasionally forgotten by the foreigner, although it is not entirely exempt from the riots raging across North Africa and throughout the Middle East. I will be spending the majority of my summer in Oman's capital, Muscat. My time will be largely comprised of attending Arabic classes, as I will be traveling via the CLS (Critical Language Scholarship) Program. The program also includes a number of cultural excursions, which are, as of yet, still mysteries to me (oh, the anticipation). This shall be the outlet of my ruminations- from recounting adventures to relaying observations.
